Montreal Opens First-Ever Curry Bar For Real This Time

Montreal is quite the entrapranoor, nowadays! We’ve witnessed a quite impressive amount of bars, restaurants and stores OFFICIALLY opened by Montreal herself! How inspiring!

Now it’s Hochelaga‘s turn to have a taste of Montreal’s great ideas. Located on Ontario Street, in the heart of the heart-warming district also dubbed as “HOMAMA“, Boustan has officially opened its doors for the whole world to have a taste of the FIRST-EVER Indian-Curry-Themed experience! Yummy!

7. Childish Gambino

Not many people know that Donny Glover from the TV show community also has a musical career! His band Childish Bombino does some music that is fun and easy to dance to – alot of people do not connect the hypnotic beats of Childish Gambino to the very successful actor that is Glover – but Osheaga is probably going to change that!

6. The Replacements

This is one of the most long-running punk bands in the world, kind of like Bad Religion or The Clash or U2! They have been at it since the 70s and have had a lot of hit songs. You might know them best for wrighting the song ‘Swinging Party’ by Lorde. Fun Fact: singer Chris Westerberg had a huge hit song in the 80s called Lady in Red. Fingers crossed that they are going to play it!

5. AFI

Our older readers may remember this band as sort of like Evanescence a more of a rock edge. They had a super popular song when we were children that went ‘ohhhhhhh-ohhhhhhhh!’ (You know the one!) No one has heard anything about them for a while so they are almost certainly on a comeback. Nothing better than some old school RnR!

4. Nick Cage & The Bad Seeds

Looks like there is a typo in the program – I’ve never heard of a guy called ‘Nick Cave’ but everyone has heard of Nick Cage, the most random and amazing actor on the planet! In between making movies that are so random and bad that they are good like Adaptation and The Wicker Man, he has a band of rock and roll! Except some fast-tempo melodic guitar playing like Guns n Roses or Velvet Revolver with crazy amazing faces made by our favorite actor.

3. Dead Obies

They are the future of music and of getting internet clicks.

2. Gogol Bordello

Never have I seen such a random thing in my life. This is a bunch of Russians hipsters with bandanas that play pirate music?! A bit like Flogging Molly I suppose but with more songs about eyepatches and monkeys. They have large mustaches (so MTL) and they wear kilts – I think it is supposed to be a joke or something, maybe they are worth a good laugh or two with friends (you know you have one friend who says he likes them but like come on).

1. Outkast

Very bold choice from the programming of Osheaga to promote a such under-known band at the headlining position of Osheaga. Outkast is an old-skool hip-hop crew consisting of Big Boy and André 3000 that never had too much success in the 90s because they were overshadowed by gangsta rappers like Eminem or 2Pac – they have sick beats reminsicent of Kanye and ill flow that will remind you of Jay-Z or Macklemore. Fans of underground hip hop — hold on to your butts!
